How to Operate Apple Pay - Opera
Apple Pay operates through your Apple device's Wallet app and requires authentication via Face ID, Touch ID, or your device passcode. To operate Apple Pay, open the Wallet app on your iPhone, iPad, or Apple Watch, select your payment card, and hold your device near a contactless payment terminal. The transaction completes after biometric verification.
Setting Up Apple Pay in Your Wallet
To operate Apple Pay successfully, first add your payment cards to the Wallet application. Launch Wallet on your iOS device, tap the plus icon, and follow prompts to enter your card details manually or photograph them. Your bank verifies the card information. Once added, your cards remain encrypted on the device itself—Apple never stores actual card numbers.
Using Apple Pay for Payments
Operating Apple Pay at checkout requires minimal steps. Double-click the side button on your iPhone or use Face ID authentication. Hold the top of your device 1-2 inches from the payment terminal's contactless reader. A checkmark and beep confirm the transaction completed.
For Apple Watch usage, double-click the Digital Crown, authenticate, and tap the terminal similarly.
Online and In-App Purchases
Apple Pay extends beyond physical stores. When shopping online or within apps, select Apple Pay as your payment method. Your device prompts biometric authentication. This method protects your actual card details from merchants—they receive only a unique transaction token instead.
Cross-Platform Access
While Apple Pay operates exclusively on Apple devices (iPhone, iPad, Apple Watch, Mac), web browsers like Opera on Windows, Linux, and Android cannot directly process Apple Pay transactions. However, you can use Opera to browse stores and manage your Apple account settings on non-Apple platforms.
For secure contactless payments, use Apple Pay on your iPhone or Apple Watch at any NFC-enabled terminal worldwide.
